About Our Academy
The history of SCFA
Stevie Campbell opened SCFA after a successful professional football career that spanned 17 years. After retiring from playing, Stevie became a professional coach and worked with teams at Dundee FC, Inverness, DUFC, and Brechin City before taking over SCFA and coaching children full time.
Our Ethos
The ethos of SCFA is to create a safe environment for all kids to enjoy football, make friends and learn from the best. We are serious about football but also aim to create a space for children to have fun and learn new skills.
You don’t have to be in a football club to join SCFA, if you’re looking to join a club we can help you get in touch with the right people.

Stevie Campbell
HEAD OF ACADEMY
HEAD COACH
DIRECTOR
Stevie has 35 years’ experience in the professional game, both as a player and a coach. He’s worked with no fewer than 40 well known, experienced coaches picking up valuable tips along the way and winning 2 league titles as well as 4 Scotland Under 21 caps.
Stevie retired at 32 due to injury and since playing, has been helping develop talent at both Dundee clubs as well as Inverness, and until recently Assistant Manager at Brechin City, coaching and helping develop young talent remains Stevie’s passion. Stevie set up SCFA in 2017, at Manhattan Works, where the facilities for coaching and the kids learning the game is unbeatable.

Keith Gibson
FOOTBALL COACH
Keith brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the kids.
Keith fits into the SCFA ethos perfectly with his playing and coaching experience, but also the way he passes this onto the kids with his personality and friendliness.
He also has the experience of working with different ages across the board with Dundee West and this is an enormous plus with all the various age groups in our classes.

James Fitzpatrick
ASSISTANT FOOTBALL COACH
James started his coaching journey at 18 when attending Abertay university, after 4 years he achieved his degree in Sports Coaching and Education.
He’s been with SCFA since the start of 2019. While completing his studies he worked with a variety of schools and organisations in and around the Dundee area with children to put on football sessions catering to varying ages. After finishing his studies, he became the coach of Abertay men’s 2’s for a season. After this he was employed by the University of St. Andrews to take the men’s 5’s and after spending a season with the 5’s and winning a league title, he was then moved up to take the men’s 4’s. He’s also spent some time in America in 2019 to work for the MLS team Chicago Fire, mainly in a Community Role.
James has been a brilliant addition to the SCFA coaching staff and has been with us for more than a year now. Although still young, it’s amazing that he’s done so much in his 7 years of learning and educating himself with his sports coaching background, and also working with different ages and levels in the football world. This has helped him go from being a superb number 2 to one of our experienced coaches, to being lead coach with our young classes where he has such a great relationship with the kids – always allowing them to have fun and learn at the same time. He has great knowledge of football for someone so young but also such a thirst to learn and is someone we are thankful to have in our coaching team. We (staff and kids) hope he’s here for years to come.
